Running Gear
This is just a list of some of the products I us, like and recommend for running.
Shoes
- New Balance 860 (2E) – the 860 has been my shoe of choice for many years. It works for me and I just keep buying them. Currently I have V14’s. They aren’t the flashiest or lightest weight and there’s no carbon plate. Just a good, everyday running shoe.
Electronics
- Garmin Forerunner 265 – a great all-rounder watch. If you want multi-sport, then jump up to the 765 and if you need all the bells and whistles, the 965 is probably the watch for you. I might just splurge and upgrade to the Fenix next (or whatever the 9XX series watch is).
- GoPro Hero 9 – a great action camera with incredible stabilization. I added the Max Lens Mod as well for those super wide action shots.
Clothing
- Lululemon Pace Breaker shorts – the 7″ linerless is my personal favourite.
- Various race t-shirts and long-sleeve shirts – I rarely buy shirts but when I do, they tend to be Nike Running or New Balance.
- OS1st CS6 Performance calf sleeves – I wear these occasionally and find they help with fatigue.
- New Balance arm sleeves – simple sleeves that provide that bit of extra warmth in late spring or early fall.
- Adidas Adizero II running cap – I have three that I rotate because I love the fit of this particular one and they are tough to find these days.
- Wrightsock Double Layer running socks. Generally I don’t get blisters, and I give the credit for that to these socks.
- Salomon ADV Skin 5 hydration vest – I was a vest skeptic for years, but I switched from a hydration belt in 2021 and won’t look back.
Other
- BioSteel electrolyte drink (mixed berry). It’s yummy, no added sugar and now it’s 100% Canadian made.
